TED X Trans-media will be hold next 30 september in Geneva, Switzerland. The conference will focus on multiplatform contents for entertainment, communication and journalism and will host some of the most important transmedia and cross-media producers, international editor and top manager working for the major and for european broadcasters. Si svolgerà il 30 settembre a Ginevra Ted X Transmedia, giornata evento organizzata dal network internazionale delle Ted Conference e dedicato ai diversi settori della Tecnologia, dell’Entertainment e del Design. L’obiettivo di questa edizione è quello di coinvolgere broadcaster pubblici e privati nella creazione e nella diffusione di contenuti multipiattaforma innovativi a livello mondiale. Di qui la scelta dell’argomento del 30 settembre: Transmedia, ovvero forme di racconto e di brand che si adattano alle diverse piattaforme mediatiche che li distribuiscono, dalla tv al cinema, dai games all’editoria fino ad internet.

It has been an honour, and such an amazing experience, to moderate and be part of the ”Cross-media & Animation” conference in Rapallo last saturday, 17 april. Jeff Gomez, President and CEO of Starlight Runner Entertainment, focused his speech on transmedia storytelling for cinema and advertising, Christy Dena, Director of Universe Creation 101, stressed her attention on the relationships between animation and cross-media using characters and fictional strategies, whilst Derrick De Kerkhove, Director of McLuhan Program in Toronto illustrated the physiology and psycology of animation in our brain.

How to create a transmedia bible, how to empower the bridging of contents between one media and the others, how to integrate our imaginery with the connective intelligence of the audience… lots and lots of suggestions to focus on next days!

The day before (friday, 17) Christy Dena, member of the international jury of “Cartoons on the bay” hold a masterclass on cross-media storytelling subjects focusing on the story and the most important techniques for cross-media storytelling that were really useful and precious for the audience.

It was great to me to be helpful with an informal interview with her during the meeting.

Cross-media: primo libro in USA e top list dei ricercatori mondiali

Esce in USA il primo libro dedicato alle forme di racconto e di promozione cross-mediali. Drew Davisdon, professore della Carnegie Mellon University di Pittsburgh arriva in libreria con “Cross-media Communications: An Introduction to the Art of Creating Integrated Media Experiences” (ETC Press) e raccoglie contributi da quelli che definisce i 32 autori, producer e ricercatori che stanno cambiando il modo di raccontare in tutto il mondo. Per l’Italia il nome è quello di Max Giovagnoli [nella foto].
